A study published in Nutritional Neuroscience discovered that 1,838 people out of 8,953 participants in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey had recurring migraines. This study lasted from 1999 to 2004, but the new research discovered that poor eating habits directly contribute to intense headaches and migraines.
The available data showed that participants who lacked crucial vitamins, fiber, and essential minerals would become likely migraine victims. At the same time, these test subjects were drinking coffee and eating chocolate, and the latter contains theobromine.
One cause of migraines is neglecting meals or having irregular meal times. For example, it’s possible to trigger migraines by waiting too long between meals, as the blood sugar levels can drop to unhealthy levels. Similarly, reducing the amount of carbohydrates in every meal can result in similar issues.
Thus, having proper and regular mealtimes is highly recommended to prevent these intense headaches.
